UT-Austin licenses T-Splines for cutting-edge analysis research Print E-mail

Using commercial-grade T-Tools libraries saves time, opens new possibilities

PROVO, UTAH — T-Splines, Inc., a leading provider of advanced 3d modeling software in styling, industrial design, CAD, CAE and entertainment, today announced that the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) research group headed by Dr. Thomas J. R. Hughes at the University of Texas at Austin has licensed its T-Tools software development kit. Dr. Hughes, Professor of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics, and his group plan to use the advanced surfacing capabilities of T-Splines to explore new frontiers in FEA. The T-Splines software development libraries, T-Tools, are available for license to OEMs and academic research programs.

Dr. Hughes, a pioneer and noted expert in computational mechanics, particularly nonlinear finite element methods for solids and fluids, commented, "T-Splines technology is uniquely qualified to solve the problems we are investigating, and the opportunity to leverage the robust T-Splines implementations of T-Tools and collaborate with T-Splines, Inc. is a boost to our work."
